Guadalajara – Valley of Stones

Guadalajara is Mexico's second biggest city, and in many respects can be considered the quintessential Mexican destination. Capital of the state of Jalisco, Guadalajara is an elegant city, and at the same time a partying city: there is no shortage of mariachis, horsemanship, lively bars and, of course, tequila, which is produced very close to the city. It is also the second most populated city in Mexico. Its Historic Center boasts beautiful religious and civic buildings, such as the Cathedral, the Degollado Theater, the Cabañas Cultural Institute, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. Be sure to visit also the lake of Chapala, as well as the Tequila producing towns.
